Five Christian Eriksen replacements for Tottenham this summer

According to reports in Scandinavian publication Ekstra Bladet, via The Independent, Tottenham attacking midfielder Christian Eriksen has refused to rule out a move to Barcelona in the future.

The Dane has been a key part of helping Spurs challenge for the Premier League title over the course of the last two seasons, but the 25-year-old has admitted that it would be difficult for him to turn down the La Liga giants if they came calling.

He said: “There are always rumours about footballers, but Barcelona are a great club and I don’t think there are many who say no to Barcelona.”

The attacking midfielder scored eight goals and provided a further 15 assists as the north London outfit recorded their best ever Premier League placing and finished ahead of arch-rivals Arsenal for the first time since 1995, but they still ended the campaign without a trophy. His successful campaign took his overall Spurs record to 31 goals in 134 Premier League appearances.

If that continues, players like Eriksen could decide to leave the club in the future and it means that manager Mauricio Pochettino needs to have a plan going forward.
