It is only February, and the Premier League season is all but over in the eyes of many.

Chelsea are eight points clear at the top of the table with just over a third of the campaign remaining, and are showing no signs of slowing in their thus far dominant march towards the title.

Since their 2-0 defeat to Tottenham at the very start of the year - which itself brought an end to a 13-game winning streak in the league - the Blues remain undefeated, with one Burnley and Liverpool able to take points from the London side.

Even former manager Jose Mourinho believes Chelsea are "already Premier League Champions".

This is the Premier League, however. A league where Leicester and Blackburn have been champions. A league where Manchester City can wait until the last seconds of the ENTIRE SEASON to pinch the title from the graspof their city rivals. A league where a once-dominant Arsenal can go over a decade without their named etched in silver.

So the race may not be over, but it certainly is Chelsea's to lose. If they are to slip from top spot, here are FIVE fixtures in which they must drop points before the end of May...

Vs. Swansea, Feb 25

Currently eight points clear, it would be a big dent in the leaders' confidence if they were to go into March with that deficit cut, or at least set to be.

While Manchester City don't have a game left in February due to clashing fixtures in the FA Cup, they are playing early in March and a win could reduce the Blues' lead to five, meaning only two further slip-ups could cost them the lead.

Swansea are in good form following the appointment of Paul Clement, so Chelsea will need to be at their best to keep their lead intact.

Vs. Stoke, Mar 18

Chelsea have won only one of their four previous fixtures against the Potters, who have become somewhat of a bogey team for them over the past year or two.

Just over a year ago, Stoke beat Chelsea twice in the space of ten days to first knock them out of the League Cup and then take three points from them in the Premier League. This season Chelsea bucked the trend, beating Mark Hughes' side 4-2 on New Year's Eve, but can they keep it up or will they fall back into old habits?

Vs. Manchester City, Apr 5

There always seems to be one fixture each season which is dubbed a 'title decider' (funny isn't it, you/the FA couldn't make it up), and this is certainly the one that appears to have been given that cursed label this time.

Chelsea were victorious in the reverse game, beating City 3-1 comprehensively at the Etihad Stadium, and will need a similar result at the Bridge this time around. A win would all but wipe the Citizens out the race, but a defeat, and it could be advantage City.

Vs. Manchester United, Apr 15

Only ten days later it is Manchester United's chance to pop Antonio Conte and Chelsea's blue balloon. April is a heavy month for the Blues, with six Premier League games with the potential of an FA Cup semi-final in the offings too, meaning they will need to be at their best, and most consistent, to keep the train rolling. Travelling to Old Trafford to face their former manager could be a tricky fixture and one they must navigate successfully in order to ensure the title still remains their's to lose.

Vs. Everton, Apr 29

You could be forgiven that thinking should Chelsea get past both United and City, that the title race is all but done, given results in between also go their way.

However, one final hurdle remains before what should be a fairly simple May run-in: Everton. The Blues hammered the Toffees 5-0 earlier in the season, however, Ronald Koeman's side have since improved and are looking like a team who could potentially challenge for the top four if they continue on their current trajectory.

The fixture at Goodison Park is just as important for the home side as it is the visitors, so expect a cracker.
