Chelsea remain on track for a first Premier League title under Antonio Conte as they lead the chasing pack by a clear eight points.
Having gone on a 13-game winning streak in league action just before the New Year, which was stopped by Tottenham early in January, the Blues have since recovered and have gone unbeaten.
A now jubilant Stamford Bridge is a far cry from the miserable deity it was last season when the club finished in a thoroughly disappointing tenth position. Conte – who joined the club following a spell as Italy’s head coach – has lifted the dark clouds and got the sun shining once again in south west London, with the Blues finally rediscovering the form that made them champions only two seasons ago.
It won’t be a cruise to finish line, however, the 3-4-3 steam train doesn’t look like being slowed anytime soon and the Blues are heavy favourites to end 2016/17 top of the pile.
