Manchester United took a massive step towards finishing in the top four with a comprehensive victory over Leicester City at the King Power stadium.

Goals from Mkhitaryan, Ibrahimovic and Mata gave them victory, extending their unbeaten streak and continuing the progress shown since Jose Mourinho took charge.

For Leicester it was another demoralising defeat and they are now in great danger of being relegated just one season after winning the Premier League.

Last season's champions didn't offer much throughout the ninety minutes but United fans won't care about that, they'll just be glad to see their team pick up another vital victory.

These are the FIVE photos that summed up all the action...

Magic Mkhitaryan

Henrikh Mkhitaryan's goal was only one component of his entire performance, a storming 90 minutes that thrilled United fans everywhere.

The Armenian was a constant thorn in Leicester's side and showed exactly why Manchester United made their move for him last summer.

He's been inconsistent at times this season but finally looks capable of stringing performances together that can proper United into the top four.

If Mourinho can keep him fit, healthy and happy then he could be a big deciding factor in who finishes in the Champions League positions.

Incredible Ibrahimovic

Incredibly, Zlatan Ibrahimovic has now scored 20 goals for Manchester United since joining last summer. The last player to do that was Robin Van Persie in United's incredible title winning season in 2012/13.

Ibrahimovic looks as good as ever has in career so far which is a fantastic achievement when you consider he's 35 years of age.

He should be declining as a player but instead appears to be getting better every week.

Mata's moment

Juan Mata surpassed his Chelsea goal tally with his 34th goal in Manchester United colours. It put the cherry on top of the United performance and ensured there would be no dangers of a Foxes comeback.

The Spaniard is clearly enjoying life at Manchester United right now and although unable to be one of the first names on Mourinho's team sheet this season will be hoping performances like the one against Leicester can help stake a claim to become a vital part of his manager's XI.

 Better and better

By the time Juan Mata scored the third and final goal Manchester United had already buried the game. The joy was clear to see throughout the team when the Spaniard netted.

The Red Devils have a big few weeks ahead of them in four competitions. By the end of February they may have progressed in the UEFA Europa League, the FA Cup, got themselves into the top four of the English Premier League and won the EFL Cup.

Of course, it could all go pear shaped too, but that's unlikely given their incredible unbeaten run right now.

This could be the defining month of their season. Get through February unscathed and they are heading for a very successful season.

Ranieri at risk

Claudio Ranieri cut a lonely figure on the Leicester touchline as Man United's goals rained in either side of half-time. He knows that the club are in dire straits right now, potentially about to be relegated after such a successful campaign last year.

The Foxes could be about to make history for the wrong reasons and become the first club to be demoted the season after winning the league title.

There's plenty of football left of course but the Italian needs to inspire his side to better performances and start picking up points. With teams below them starting to pick up wins, they could find themselves in the relegation zone sooner rather than later.
