Signing a new left-back

Leeds United defender Charlie Taylor had a transfer request rejected last summer following West Bromwich Albion despite entering the last year of his contract at Elland Road, but there was no solution to the situation.

Unwilling to sign a new deal, the 23-year-old spent the majority of the closing stages of the Championship campaign before refusing to play in the club’s final match of the season against Wigan Athletic.

Despite offering him a new two-year deal following the expiry of his contract in order to ensure they get a compensation fee, Taylor is expected to go and Monk will need to find a new left-back.
