The 31-year-old midfielder’s contract at Hillsborough runs out this summer, and the club are surely waiting to see what division they are in before choosing whether to offer the winger a new deal or not.
If they stay in the Championship they may choose to, however, if the Owls are promoted then there probably wouldn’t be a future for the Scot in the Premier League.
While he has scored five goals in 37 appearances in all competitions for Wednesday this season, he would be nothing more than a bit-part player in the top flight if the club wants to survive.
