With a large budget behind them, it could be another big summer in the transfer market for Everton and manager Ronald Koeman as they look to make that step up to being top four contenders in the Premier League.

While the Dutchman could look to strengthen a number of areas in his team, one of his priorities may be bringing in a new goalkeeper.

Maarten Stekelenburg and Joel Robles have shared the duties between the posts this season, with the latter becoming the first choice in December after the former picked up an injury in the Merseyside Derby.

Despite establishing himself in recent months, Robles’ contract at Goodison Park is due to run out next summer and according to the International Business Times, there have been no talks over an extension to that deal, putting his long-term future with the Toffees into doubt.

Here are FOUR goalkeepers that Koeman must look to bring to Everton this summer…

In what has been another desperate Premier League season for Sunderland, one of the highlights has been the performances of goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.

The 23-year-old has established himself as the Black Cats’ first choice stopper under David Moyes following a string of impressive showings, and he will certainly be in demand from a number of clubs if the Wearside outfit do drop out of the top flight.

From what we have seen, he has the potential to have a long term between the sticks for Everton.

Asmir Begovic

The Bosnia and Herzegovina international would have hoped that he could challenge for the No.1 spot when he moved to Chelsea from Stoke City in 2015, but he has largely struggled for first-team minutes at Stamford Bridge.

At the age of 29 and wanting more regular first-team football, Begovic looks set to leave the Blues this summer and Everton could do a lot worse than bringing the stopper to Merseyside.

Fraser Forster

Ronald Koeman knows Forster well having managed the tall stopper when he was Southampton boss, and he is a big fan of the England international.

Despite the fact that he is well respected outside of the south coast club, the 28-year-old has come under scrutiny from some Saints supporters this season following some questionable performances between the sticks, and Claude Puel could look to bring in a new No.1 this summer.

If he does, Forster would be high on Koeman’s list of targets.

Tom Heaton

Burnley have been one of the surprise packages in the Premier League season, and one of their key men has been goalkeeper Tom Heaton.

The England international has produced a number of brilliant displays to help his side pick up some vital points this term, including an outstanding performance in a 0-0 draw against Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Those eye-catching showings would have impressed potential suitors, and the 30-year-old would certainly be a good signing for an Everton team that are looking to kick on.
