Celtic are no strangers to an advantageous loan deal from the English Premier League. From Craig Bellamy to Patrick Roberts, it's long been a strategy employed in order to build teams capable of winning trophies on a regular basis.

For a while it looked like it may be to their detriment, with often three, four or more loan signings turning up across a season, never really fitting in or adding much at all.

Deals like the one for Roberts though are the future at the club. Focused and targeted deals that offer real benefit to the team, the supporters, the parent club and the player himself.

Brendan Rodgers certainly thinks so. The Herald recently reported he was a big fan of utilising young players from the best academies in England.

The key is finding players ready for the first team but not currently getting regular action for their clubs. Inevitably these players find themselves at the top six or seven clubs in the division.

So who can follow in Patrick Roberts' footsteps next season?

Here are four Premier League teenagers we think could make an impact at Celtic...

Chris Willock

This isn't a suggestion we've plucked from thin air. Willock was actually linked with a move to Celtic just a couple of months ago by The Daily Record.

The young winger is seen as a direct replacement for Patrick Roberts and although he's yet to make his debut at Arsenal, he's highly thought of at the Emirates.

Arsene Wenger was full of praise for the teenager just last season, believing he has that spark to beat men and get into good attacking areas.

Speaking to Arsenal.com, the Gunners boss said: "Chris is a very gifted player with natural strength and natural talent. He has what you do not find very easily. He can have a go at people, can get past people in one on ones. We forget sometimes that the basis of team sport is to first be strong one against one and Chris has that quality."

That sounds pretty similar to the ability Roberts has and against packed, organised defences in the Scottish top-flight, Celtic need players that can produce those moments of magic in the final third. Having represented England at four age levels, it's clear his future is bright.

Is a season at Celtic on loan getting first team experience the final stage in his development?

Ovie Ejaria

Ovie Ejaria is another midfielder who puts focus on attack and is actually already getting first team appearances for Liverpool under Jurgen Klopp. The 19 year old is obviously impressing at Anfield but with the likes of Adam Lallana and Philippe Coutinho ahead of him in the pecking order, it's tough to convince that he is the answer on a regular basis in the Reds starting XI.

Another who has U20 caps for England, he has 8 appearances for Liverpool this season, perhaps demonstrating he has more than enough quality to make an impact in the Scottish Premiership.

A full season on loan at the Scottish champions could do wonders for him, especially under a manager that must know him well from his time in charge of the Anfield club.

Patrick Roberts is leading the way on Celtic's assist chart this season with 14 so the absence of that could cause a bit of a creativity problem and having more of that from midfield could be the ticket.

Josh Onomah

Having just turned 20 years of age, Josh Onomah is entering a critical stage of his development at Tottenham Hotspur and while he is on the fringes of the first team, he really needs regular week-t0-week action to bring his game to the next level.

Like Ovie Ejaria's situation at Liverpool, there are just too many talented, elite players ahead of him to risk giving him a chance on a regular basis at a team pushing for the league title next season.

He does have appearances this season though, he's made 12 in all, including 3 starts in the domestic cups. Perhaps crucially for Celtic he has experience of being in and around the matchday squad in the UEFA Champions League, making two substitute appearances.

It's not the appearances themselves in that competition that is a bonus but his getting vital experience preparing for the fixtures, which can make the oldest of players nervous at the thought.

Spurs should be seeking a loan move for him and where better is there than Celtic right now?

Tosin Adarabioyo

Tosin Adarabioyo had been set to leave Manchester City this summer as his contract was expiring but he's set to stay on at the club after the two parties came to agreement on a new deal.

He was actually linked with the Hoops back in January when all that was still up in the air, with Celtic reportedly keen on bringing him to Glasgow for a compensation fee.

However, even though that's dead, it doesn't mean they can't make a move for him on loan for the season. Man City and Celtic clearly have a good relationship with both Jason Denayer and Patrick Roberts coming north for spells at the club. It's a trusted place for the Citizens to develop their best talent and a year in the first team of the Scottish champions could do wonders for Adarabioyo too.

A strong central defender with UEFA Champions League experience, he could provide big competition for the likes of Jozo Simunovic and another former Man City prospect, Dedryck Boyata, in the heart of the Hoops backline.
