Southampton will be looking to pick up all three points when they host in-form Crystal Palace in the Premier League at St Mary’s on Wednesday night.
The Saints made a disappointing return to their south coast home – following a two-month period without a match there – as they played out a goalless draw with local rivals Bournemouth on Saturday, and manager Claude Puel will hope that his team can improve on that result in midweek.
Puel’s men have only tasted success on five occasions at home in the top flight this term, and it is far from being the fortress that it once was.
It won’t be an easy task to take all three points against Sam Allardyce’s men either, as they have hit form just at the right time of the campaign as they look to stay away from the relegation spots – the Eagles are currently four points above the bottom three.
