Celtic and Rangers battled to a 1-1 draw on Sunday in a derby that didn't disappoint in terms of drama and spectacle. A match that the Hoops were expected to dominate, it was Rangers left celebrating at the end after a shocking late equaliser.

It's a result that Rangers supporters took much joy from, having gone into the match fearing the worst. For Celtic fans, it was a frustrating day that ended their hopes of breaking win streak records in the Scottish top-flight.

In the grand scheme of things, though, the result doesn't matter that much at all, with neither side really better or worse off as a result.

The Rangers players celebrated the result like a victory but is that a sign of how far they've fallen in recent years?

Here are four reasons why for Celtic, it's a result they shouldn't sweat whatsoever...

33 points is still 33 points

Let's be honest, the only reason Rangers celebrated the result so wildly is because the Hoops are so far ahead of them this season. If anything, Celtic should take it as a compliment.

The 33 point difference is as big a gap as there's ever been between the two sides in living memory and Sunday's result ensured that did not change one bit.

The result also meant that Rangers mathematically could not catch Celtic in the league table, meaning they officially dropped out of the title race.

It may not have been the dominant performance that Celtic fans hoped for but the reality is the gap hasn't closed and no amount of crowing from rival supporters is going to change that.

Celtic can still win the title this weekend

In the context of their season the result was almost meaningless to Celtic and they still go into this weekend's round of fixtures with the chance to secure the league title.

Whether they do it does depend on Aberdeen, who face Hearts at Pittodrie on Saturday. If Derek McInnes' men lose that then the title party preparations will start for Celtic's travelling away support who play at Dens on Sunday afternoon.

The Hoops' march towards the league title is inevitable and if they don't manage to do it this weekend then it will probably be in the next round of Scottish Premiership matches after the international break.

A sixth title in a row is on its way and it'll be the Bhoys celebrating come the end of the season.

Still unbeaten

Celtic have still not been beaten in domestic competition this season and if they can close out the 12 potential matches left in the league and Scottish Cup, it'll go down as one of the greatest seasons in the club's entire history and cement Brendan Rodgers' legacy for decades to come.

What's more, they've only failed to win two matches and in both they've conceded in the last 5 minutes. No side has really looked like defeating the Hoops and that puts them on the brink of legend status.

The toughest tests lie at Hampden against Rangers themselves and in the Scottish Cup Final should they get there.

At the end of the season, if the feat is achieved, no-one will be looking back on Sunday's result with much interest.

Rangers were at their best, Celtic at their worst

Perhaps most comforting for Celtic is that not only are they still unbeaten, they are unbeaten despite putting in their worst domestic performance of the entire season. Rangers meanwhile put in one of their best performances and still couldn't get the job done. That's before we even talk about the questionable refereeing decisions from Bobby Madden.

If 1-1 draws are the anomalies waiting for Celtic results wise then they don't have much to worry about at all in Scottish football, least of all Rangers.
