It's been a fantastic season in the Premier League and the intoxicating football shows little signs of relenting following yet another dramatic weekend in the top flight.Everybody who was supposed to win, lose and draw eventually did, with surprisingly few upsets throughout the nine games (the tenth of gameweek 32 being Crystal Palace vs Arsenal tonight), but the action was as fast and furious as usual and most fixtures contained their fair share of twists throughout the ninety minutes.Liverpool came back from a goal down to beat Stoke City at the Bet365 Stadium, whilst Bournemouth gave Chelsea a second-half scare before succumbing to a 3-1 defeat and Tottenham quite simply destroyed Watford at home with a dominant 4-0 win.Sunday, meanwhile, saw Manchester United maintain their unbeaten record (more on that in a moment) and Everton and Leicester provide arguably the game of the weekend in a six-goal thriller. The beautiful game has gone statistics mad in recent years and we at Football FanCast are no different, so here's a look at the most shocking numerical gems from the weekend...

Sign him up!

Romelu Lukaku could leave Goodison Park for a top club this summer and judging by his scoring form in 2017, it's not hard to see why. The Belgian battering ram has been phenomenal since the turn of the year, propelling himself to the top of the Premier League's scoring charts with 13 goals - more than four clubs in the top flight. Furthermore, he's proving himself to be the most varied striker in the division, netting more than five with both feet and his head.

Wrapped in cotton wool

Eden Hazard's revived form in 2016/17 has cemented his reputation as the Premier League's flagship talent and as a consequence, it appears Antonio Conte is protecting him whenever possible, subbing him off a whopping 20 times. He's only completed the full 90 minutes on nine occasions, but that also highlights how Chelsea have got themselves over the finishing line with time to spare far more often than not this season.

England's No.10?

Gareth Southgate's decision not to issue Ross Barkley any minutes against Germany and Lithuania during the last international break caused quite the stink and lead to plenty of debate over the Everton midfielder's future within the England setup. This statistic contradicts Southgate's selection calls, with Barkley notching up the most assists of any English player since the start of last season. Proof he should be the Three Lions' No.10 going forward?

Born old, die young

Zlatan Ibrahimovic compared himself to Benjamin Button after netting the opener in Manchester United's 3-0 win over Sunderland on Sunday, even claiming he was born old and will die young. The statistics certainly back that up; despite being considered a world-class force since his early twenties, Ibrahimovic has actually scored more goals since his 30th birthday than before, by a margin of 28. Of course, much of that time was spent in Ligue 1, but the Swedish icon is showing no signs of letting up at 35.

On the road again

If Manchester United's results at Old Trafford paralleled their away form, Jose Mourinho's side would likely be part of the title race this season. Whilst home displays have repeatedly underwhelmed, the Red Devils have been racking up the points in machine-like fashion on the road, currently third in the division's away table with two games in hand on Chelsea in top spot. If Mourinho can get the home results up to standard, United could be unstoppable next season.

Sorry Sunderland

For Sunday's opponents Sunderland, however, it's a rather different story. They haven't scored since netting four past Crystal Palace at the start of February and have now gone goalless at the Stadium of Light for five consecutive fixtures - their longest home drought for over twenty years.

Part of the problem could well be Sunderland's poor disciplinary record, with the Black Cats picking up the most red cards of any Premier League side this term. With just seven games left to go, David Moyes' side appear destined to spend next season in the Championship.

It just keeps on giving

Some critics have questioned whether the Premier League is still the best top flight in the world, and whether ignorance is the underlying factor in the division's fans eternally seeing it that way. But Everton's 4-2 over Leicester City on Sunday was the 42nd comeback win of the season and although we haven't checked the facts, it seems unlikely a foreign counterpart has been able to match the Premier League in that regard. The quality may no longer be as great as it has been in the past, but the English top flight is still second to none when it comes to entertainment and drama.

Foregone conclusions

Speaking of comebacks, no Premier League side have won more points from losing positions this season than Liverpool, who overturned a 1-0 deficit to claim all three points against Stoke City at the Bet365 Stadium on Saturday. The Reds appeared to be staring down the barrel of a shock defeat until Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino entered the fray from the bench, netting Liverpool's equaliser and winner respectively. Although Jurgen Klopp's side are by no means the finished article, there's no questioning their character, commitment and self-belief.

Lads, it's Tottenham

Tottenham were once the soft touch of the Premier League's big boys, always finishing behind their rivals after capitulating in big games. That motivated Sir Alex Ferguson to famously deliver a three-word team-talk that inspired a victory over the Lilywhites, but it's Mauricio Pochettino's side who are in the ascendancy at the moment, currently three places ahead of the Red Devils. Perhaps most tellingly, Manchester United's goals for tally is currently being gazumped by just three Spurs stars - striker Harry Kane and supporting duo Dele Alli and Son Heung-min, who both netted against Watford in Saturday's early kickoff.

The Boys from Brazil

Philippe Coutinho's equaliser against Stoke City this weekend etched his name in Premier League history. The Liverpool star is now the competition's top-scoring Brazilian of all time, overtaking Middlesbrough's iconic magician Juninho. With Sadio Mane ruled out for the rest of the season, however, Jurgen Klopp will need the attacking midfielder to add even more to his tally in the coming weeks - whilst Roberto Firmino will be keen to catch up, currently lagging ten behind his team-mate and countryman.

Set piece kings

Marcos Alonso sealed Chelsea's win over Bournemouth in Saturday's late kickoff with a rasping free kick that gave Artur Boruc little chance, sticking it right in the top bin. That was the 13th free kick the Blues have scored since 2012/13, a Premier League best and testament to how machine-like Chelsea often are in demolishing their opposition. In addition to Alonso, Eden Hazard, Willian, Cesc Fabregas and David Luiz have all proved their proficiency from dead ball situations for the Blues in the top flight.

Worst undefeated run ever?

Jose Mourinho hasn't been quick to hide his pride in Manchester United's undefeated streak, now spanning an impressive 20 games. But when compared to Arsenal's legendary Invincibles season, the Red Devils are a long way off, winning only half of those fixtures whilst drawing the other ten. It highlights how United have steadily improved under Mourinho, but also how they're still far from being the finished article. Are a few attacking signings needed this summer?

Giant killer & Liverpool slayer

The Premier League was pretty short on the upset front last weekend, with every favourite beating sides lower than them in the table. Nonetheless, there were still players performing beyond their means individually, not least including Josh King who grabbed what proved to be a consolation goal in Bournemouth's 3-1 defeat to Chelsea - his eighth against top half opposition this season. Likewise, Stoke City's Jonathan Walters grabbed his seventh goal against Liverpool in the top flight, a personal best for the Potters cult hero and a recurring frustration for Reds fans.

Dele Delight

It's incredible to think Dele Alli was playing League One football this time two years ago, and even more incredible when you realise he's still 20 years of age - with the Tottenham midfielder's birthday on Tuesday this week. This statistic really puts his miraculous rise into perspective, playing a hand in more Premier League goals than Frank Lampard, Steven Gerrard and David Beckham combined at the same age. Alli looks destined for greatness one way or the other; it's just a question of whether he'll achieve it at Tottenham Hotspur or somewhere else.
