The Premier League still likes to remind itself that Swansea signed off on one of the bargains of last year when they snapped up Michu from Rayo Vallecano. But now everyone wants to get in on the act.

Liverpool and Tottenham may wish to explore similar deals this summer, as even though both clubs appear to have the means to go out and spend big, the smaller deals will be just as important in building a squad capable of reaching whatever target each club will have for next May.

And it’s not just abroad that is likely to hold a number of bargains; Premier League clubs will also certainly be looking to offload peripheral figures or those eating into the wage budget. Both Liverpool and Tottenham have attractive projects built up over the next few seasons, and there is sure to be many players who would jump at the chance to join either club.
