The five fixtures that will define Arsenal’s season

Arsenal head into the new campaign having won a third FA Cup in four seasons but as most fans will tell you, their priority still remains winning the Premier League title.

A fifth-place finish this term meant it was the first time manager Arsene Wenger has failed to qualify for the UEFA Champions League in 21 seasons at the club, which has left Arsenal facing a huge rebuilding project.

The Gunners will aim to begin the process of rebuilding in the transfer market but it will have to stem much further than that. Arsenal are notorious for their incompetence in big games and it tends to be their downfall each season.

The ‘top six’ mini league usually sees the north Londoners somewhere near the bottom in terms of head-to-heads, which has been a huge issue for Wenger in recent seasons.
