Arsenal head into the new campaign having won a third FA Cup in four seasons but as most fans will tell you, their priority still remains winning the Premier League title.

A fifth-place finish this term meant it was the first time manager Arsene Wenger has failed to qualify for the UEFA Champions League in 21 seasons at the club, which has left Arsenal facing a huge rebuilding project.

The Gunners will aim to begin the process of rebuilding in the transfer market but it will have to stem much further than that. Arsenal are notorious for their incompetence in big games and it tends to be their downfall each season.

The ‘top six’ mini league usually sees the north Londoners somewhere near the bottom in terms of head-to-heads, which has been a huge issue for Wenger in recent seasons.

Following their official release, we take a look at the fixtures that will define Arsenal's coming 2017/18 Premier League campaign...

Tottenham (A)

Tottenham v Arsenal - Sat 10th Feb

Tottenham away has been a problem for Wenger in recent years. The last time they won there was 2013, a 1-0 victory thanks to a rocket of a shot from Tomas Rosicky.

The league fixture will be at Wembley this season as Spurs make a temporary move to the home of English football whilst their brand new stadium is constructed.

Arsenal have won their previous eight games at the stadium, which will certainly give the Gunners a boost heading into this fixture.

Manchester United (A)

The rivalry hasn’t been as fierce in recent years as both sides have fallen from fighting for the title to battling for Champions League qualification.

A head-to-head battle between Jose Mourinho and Arsene Wenger is always a mouth-watering prospect though, and the Frenchman has recently had his opponent's number.

The Londoners haven't registered a league win at the Theatre of Dreams since Emmanuel Adebayor poked home to give the Gunners the victory in 2007.

Three points are vital here if Arsenal are serious about challenging for the title.

Stoke v Arsenal - Sat 19th Aug

An away trip to Stoke City has been a notoriously difficult place to go for Arsenal since the Potters' arrival in the Premier League.

The Gunners came up with the goods at the back end of last season, defeating the hosts 4-1.

This was the first Arsenal victory at away at Stoke since February 2010. If the North London outfit are to progress, then it is paramount that they pick up three points again.

Everton (A)

Everton v Arsenal - Sat 21st Oct

A trip to Goodison Park is never an easy job for any team and Arsenal are no exception to that. Arsenal won there in 2015 and have, in general, a good overall record against the Toffees.

But in recent years Arsenal have lost some important games on Merseyside and many Arsenal fans singled out the 2-1 loss in 2016 as the beginning of the end of their league campaign as they went on a barren spell between January and April.

The importance of getting something out of this fixture is huge for any top team aiming for the main prize.

Chelsea

Chelsea v Arsenal - Sat 16th Feb

Arsenal v Chelsea - Mon 1st Jan

Playing Chelsea is an important occasion as the rivalry with the Blues has gone to a new level during the Roman Abramovic era - especially when coupled with the Jose Mourinho and Arsene Wenger rivalry.

This fixture is a highly contested one. Arsenal managed to come out on top twice last season including victory in the FA Cup final - an uncommon occurrence as the west Londoners have had the rub of the green over the past ten years.

A huge fixture for both teams in building confidence and putting them on the right track of topping the top six mini league, which goes a long way towards winning the title.
