Another weekend of Scottish Premiership action is ahead of us and for Rangers it's an opportunity to again prove to their own fans that they are capable of strong performances in the top-flight.

Last weekend a much-hyped encounter with Hibernian ended in disastrous defeat for Pedro Caixinha's men and they've spent the week licking their wounds preparing for a fixture with Hibs' city rivals Heart of Midlothian.

Hearts themselves have suffered a crisis this summer with the sacking of Ian Cathro and the search for a new manager well underway. In the meantime it's been caretaker manager Jon Daly guiding them through the opening fixtures of the league season. Thrashed 4-1 by champions Celtic on the opening day, they rallied in their next fixture to beat Kilmarnock 1-0 and will go into the Ibrox clash confident they can upset the Light Blues just like Hibs.

They have the players to do it too and Caixinha's side will have to be at the top of their game if they're to secure the three points fans desire.

These are the THREE Hearts danger men that could pile more misery onto the Ibrox outfit this weekend...

Kyle Lafferty

Kyle Lafferty is a name that Rangers fans of course know very well. Spending four successful seasons with the club from 2008 to 2012, the Northern Ireland international made 138 appearances, scoring 38 goals in the process.

With mixed fortunes since then in England and abroad, he's found himself back in Scottish football and has shown he is still more than comfortable of being an effective attacking force North of the border.

He's already netted four goals in six appearances for the Jam Tarts and heads to Ibrox on Saturday knowing that a goal at Ibrox will make headlines across the country. It's the old, classic football story; former attacker returns club and scores.

Lafferty is a player Rangers simply have to shut down this weekend or they risk dropping more points.

Esmael Goncalves

Esmael Goncalves is another goal threat who is more than capable of breaking Rangers fans' hearts on Saturday. Like Kyle Lafferty he's also a man in form, scoring three goals so far this season including one at Celtic Park and the winner in last week's league match away to Kilmarnock.

He was also sent off in that clash against Killie, but has won his appeal with the SFA and will be a favourite to make a start at Ibrox on Saturday.

Possessing power, pace and a lethal finishing ability on his day, he'll be a handful for the likes of Bruno Alves to deal with and that's a match-up that could well define how the 90 minutes go. If Alves can deal with the big striker adequately then Rangers have a great chance of keeping a clean.

His 11 goals in 22 appearances for Hearts cannot be underestimated and you wouldn't bet against him making it three goals in three Scottish Premiership games.

Jamie Walker

Tying the entire Hearts performance together could be Jamie Walker, who is in line to return to the Hearts matchday squad after being dropped due to question marks about his future at the club.

As The Daily Record reported earlier this summer, Rangers themselves have had a massive three bids for the left winger knocked back by the Edinburgh side but Hearts coach Jon Daly reckons he is now in the mental place required to be an effective presence in the starting eleven again.

His ability is undeniable, proving last year he is one of the best players in the division outside of Celtic. He scored 15 goals for the Tynecastle side, including against Rangers, and if he's on top form on Saturday it could be a long day for the Light Blues.
