After a long and difficult season, Rangers will finally put 2016/17 to bed this Sunday with a trip to Perth to face St Johnstone. It'll be far from an easy task to pick up the victory; Tommy Wright's men have been one of the most consistent and toughest sides to beat in the Scottish Premiership this season.

Finishing the campaign on a high is vital for Pedro Caixinha. Supporters are growing worried that he may not have what it takes to push the Light Blues forward so every victory right now is a small step in the right direction.

Caixinha will no doubt have the summer transfer window to try and turn things around at Ibrox and he needs the goodwill and support of fans to raise confidence levels at the club ahead of the new season kicking off.

On Wednesday night the Gers looked as poor as they have all season, slipping to a defeat that meant Aberdeen ended a 26-year winless streak at Ibrox.

What changes should Caixinha make from that starting line-up for the trip to St Johnstone?

Here are THREE suggestions...

Clint Hill in for Aidan Wilson

Clint Hill didn't get the chance to play one last time in front of the home supporters at Ibrox on Wednesday night with young Aidan Wilson coming in as his replacement alongside David Bates. The inexperienced centre-back partnership was a surprise and most fans were looking forward to sending Hill off. His contract expires at the end of the season and he won't be staying in Glasgow.

Pedro Caixinha has one last chance to give the fans what they want by starting him against St Johnstone, where there will no doubt be a sizeable travelling away support.

Hill has been one of Rangers' most consistent players this season, popping up with some big goals too, most notably against Celtic at Celtic Park. He deserves a send off and in truth he's likely their greatest option in terms of of securing a result too.

Jamie Barjonas in for Jon Toral

Jon Toral has dropped off as a Rangers player. Initially appearing to be one of the most successful loan signings at Ibrox in recent times, he failed to play his part in the games against Celtic. On Wednesday night against Aberdeen, he looked well off the pace and like a player who, frankly, didn't look like he wanted to be in a Rangers shirt.

Jamie Barjonas has shown nothing but commitment since coming into first team in recent weeks and deserves the chance to show what he can do away from home - from the start. At just 18 years old he represents the future at Ibrox and another appearance for the senior side will do him no harm at all.

Having represented Scotland at three youth levels, it's clear he has talent and with resources at the club stretched thin this summer, relying on youth next season could be a key Pedro Caixinha strategy.

Serge Atakayi in for Joe Dodoo

Joe Dodoo is a frustrating Rangers player. At times this season he's shown flashes of brilliance, most notably his off the bench cameo at Pittodrie, but on the whole he's been inconsistent and incapable of really punishing teams.

Serge Atakayi is another young player in the U20s who could have a bright future at Ibrox and giving him a game against one of the toughest sides in the Scottish Premiership should tell Pedro Caixinha a lot about whether he can break into the first team on a regular basis next season.

The youngest ever scorer in the Finnish top-flight, he joined Rangers last summer but has yet to make his debut. After impressing for the U20s all season, giving him the nod on the last day would do wonders for his confidence and could unearth yet another competent youngster at the club.
