Three Celtic players that need to improve to ensure treble dream doesn’t die
Celtic are on the verge of winning a sixth successive league title, with victory against Hearts at Tynecastle on Sunday enough to officially deliver the trophy. They can even win it before then if Aberdeen lose to Dundee on Friday night.
Regardless, it’s inevitable that they’ll be Scottish champions again and they’ll be looking ahead to the rest of their goals this season, chiefly going unbeaten domestically and also winning a rare domestic treble of trophies.
A treble is something Celtic haven’t achieved for 15 years and something they have only done three times in their long, storied history.
Brendan Rodgers doing it in his first season would be an immense achievement and make him a legend of the club within one year of his arrival.
But, are their signs the haul is at risk? Less than convincing performances against Rangers and Dundee followed going behind to St Mirren in the Scottish Cup, after all.
It should be stressed that they are, of course, still unbeaten, but do some of their big performers so far need to improve to ensure there are no slip-ups?
