Three free transfers that can add quality at a budget to Rangers’ first team

After a poor season last term, the hope for Rangers fans that this summer would be something a rebirth for the squad, with Pedro Caixinha finally able to put in some pre-season and get his hands on some players of his own choosing in the transfer market.

Those hopes came crashing down on Tuesday night when they were humbled in Luxembourg and dumped out of the UEFA Europa League first qualifying round by Progres Niederkorn.

The fall-out has been enormous with supporters not happy at all with any of the players or the Portuguese for the humiliating result.

There are constructive ways forward though and the fact is that many of Caixinha’s signings have not yet made their debut for the club yet for various fitness and international commitment reasons.

Having been so busy in the market already, you might expect Rangers to slow down their spending and while that may be true, we reckon that they are not done quite yet when it comes to recruitment.

Any acquisitions now though will have be done on the cheap and we reckon these THREE out-of-contract stars could play a big role at Ibrox…
