Three January signings that could give Rangers a much needed boost
Jamie Walker to Rangers was one of the biggest reported transfer sagas of the entire summer and with less than a year left on his contract at Tynecastle, it seems certain he will leave Hearts regardless of his destination.
That’s thrown his form in the early part of the season way off. In his first nine matches he’s failed to contribute to a single goal for the Edinburgh side, whether through one of his own or an assist. That’s a far cry from last season when he netted 15 times and contributed seven assists in all competitions.
His record in 2016/17 is still what makes him an outstanding January buy for Rangers. He’s shown what he can be capable of in the Scottish top-flight and although he’s struggled to find that confidence this term, a big move to Ibrox would almost certainly re-invigorate him and provide a huge boost to the Light Blues squad at a decent price.
