According to reports in the Daily Mail, Aston Villa have sent scouts to watch Eintracht Frankfurt striker Haris Seferovic with a view to making a summer move.
The Switzerland international’s contract with the Bundesliga outfit is due to run out this summer, although it is believed there is an option for the 25-year-old to extend his stay for a further year.
Even though Villa are likely to spend another year in the Championship following a disappointing campaign, and Steve Bruce will need to put together a team this summer that will challenge for automatic promotion next term.
Ross McCormack only signed from Fulham for £12m last year, but the Scot looks set to leave Villa Park at the end of the season after failing to impress Bruce and being sent out on loan to Nottingham Forest.
They still have Jonathan Kodjia and January transfer window addition Scott Hogan, but the Villa boss is seemingly still looking to strengthen his attacking options, although the Swiss striker might not be the answer.
