According to reports on BBC Football, Everton are in talks to bring Malaga forward Sandro Ramirez to the Premier League this summer.

The 21-year-old only joined the La Liga outfit from Barcelona last year, but he made a huge impression in his first season playing regularly at that level and the BBC says the striker had attracted interest from Atletico Madrid.

However, Diego Simeone’s side are unable to bring him in as they have a transfer ban which doesn’t end until the January transfer window, which has allowed the Merseyside outfit to swoop in.

Toffees manager Ronald Koeman has already released Arouna Kone and seen Enner Valencia return to West Ham United following a season-long loan spell – along with the continued uncertainty over the future of Romelu Lukaku – and he needs new attacking players and getting the former Barca man could prove to be quite the coup.

Here are three reasons Everton target Ramirez could be the signing of the summer…

Goals

After scoring seven goals in 32 appearances during his time playing in the Barcelona first team, Malaga wouldn’t have been exactly sure what they were going to get from the 21-year-old when they signed him last summer.

However, they got a player who showed what a lethal finisher he can be – as well as a creative force – by scoring 14 goals in 30 La Liga appearances and providing a further five assists.

If Ramirez can bring that kind of form to the Premier League, he could be one of the signings of the summer.

Price tag

The 21-year-old has a buy-out clause of just £5.2m and if a move goes through for a player that scored 14 goals in La Liga this season, it could prove to be an absolute bargain.

Because of the price, there will also be a lot less pressure on the player to make an instant impact in the Premier League because sometimes it can take time to adapt to a new country.

There is little risk for Everton either if the deal fails to pay off, as they could still probably make a profit on him if a Spanish club wanted to bring him back to La Liga.

You don’t come through the Barcelona youth system and play for the first team more than 30 times if you don’t have something about you, and Toffees supporters will surely already be excited at the potential arrival of the 21-year-old.

Still at an age where he is developing and learning the game, Ramirez still has plenty of time left to improve and he could go on to become a hugely important player for the Merseyside outfit in years to come.
