Three reasons Jamie Vardy should not be Everton’s Lukaku replacement

According to reports in the Sunday Express, Everton are said to be eyeing a move for Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy this summer should Romelu Lukaku leave the club.

The Belgium international has so far failed to sign the new five-year deal – that would make him the best paid player in the club’s history – that he has been offered as he is keen to play Champions League football.

However, the Toffees are now ready to demand a world-record fee for the 24-year-old, who still has two years remaining on his contract, in a bid to keep him for at least one more season.

If he is snapped up by the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United or Bayern Munich, manager Ronald Koeman is understood to be ready to make the Foxes striker his number one target to replace the Belgian.
