Three reasons Marco Silva wouldn’t be a good appointment for Southampton
He struggled under pressure
While his record at home since taking the helm at Hull has been quite remarkable, the Tigers failed to perform when it mattered most.
A home match against a dreadful already-relegated Sunderland side could have moved the Yorkshire outfit one step closer to survival, but instead they were beaten 2-0 meaning their clash against Crystal Palace on Sunday was a must-win fixture.
But things failed to go to plan and Silva’s men failed to register a single shot on target as they were beaten 4-0 at Selhurst Park to condemn them to Championship football next term.
That lack of fight, goals and being able to turn things around when they needed to will be a worry for Southampton supporters if he is appointed at St Mary’s.
