Three reasons Sheffield Wednesday can’t be complacent against lowly Burton
Sheffield Wednesday will look to further cement their place in the Championship play-off places when they host Burton Albion at Hillsborough on Tuesday night.
The Owls thrashed fellow top-six hopefuls Norwich City 5-1 at home on Saturday, with January transfer window signing Jordan Rhodes scoring twice, adding to goals from Ross Wallace, Morgan Fox and Fernando Forestieri.
That huge win meant Carlos Carvalhal’s men maintained their five-point advantage over seventh-placed Fulham, as the Yorkshire outfit look to finally make a long-awaited return to the Premier League.
In midweek, they face a Burton Albion side who are in 19th position and just three points above the relegation zone.
A 0-0 draw against fellow strugglers Bristol City at Ashton Gate at the weekend kept their heads above water, but they could be nervous ahead of their trip north having seen Wednesday’s goal glut against the Canaries.
