Three reasons Tottenham should sign Jean Michael Seri instead of Ross Barkley
Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with moves for Everton star Ross Barkley and Nice midfielder Jean Michael Seri throughout the summer transfer window and it seems apparent that manager Mauricio Pochettino is looking for a central midfielder with more attacking tendencies.
Spurs currently have the likes of Victor Wanyama, Mousa Dembele, Eric Dier and youngster Harry Winks competing for spots in the middle of the park, but only the inexperienced latter really has the ability to make a difference in the final third.
While Barkley has been offered a new contract by the Toffees with his current deal due to expire this time next year, BBC Football says he has told the club that he won’t be signing it and a summer exit is looking likely unless the Merseyside outfit are willing to risk losing him for nothing next year.
Meanwhile, Seri was one of the stand-out performers for Nice as they secured a third-place finish in Ligue 1 last season, and he could be a better fit in the Spurs midfield.
