His success with Napoli

While Mazzarri enjoyed positive spells with both Sampdoria and Inter Milan prior to coming to England to take the Watford job, he enjoyed the majority of his success with Napoli between 2009 and 2013.

The Italian guided the Serie A outfit to a sixth-place finish in his first season in charge, but it was in the next campaign that his management really started to take effect.

Mazzarri led Napoli to a third-place finish and automatic qualification for the Champions League with the likes of Edinson Cavani, Ezequiel Lavezzi and Marek Hamsik excelling, while after winning the 2012 Coppa Italia he secured a second-place finish in Serie A in 2013 – the Italian side’s most successful league campaign in more than 20 years.
