Rangers fans haven't had too many positives to shout about this season but in the wake of a storming win against Aberdeen, are looking forward to the last part of the season.

With a Scottish Cup still up for grabs and the slim possibility of still finishing second on the agenda, Pedro Caixinha still has the chance to turn a forgettable season into a memorable one.

Even if those goals aren't reached, what Rangers fans want to see most of all is progress or, at the very least, signs of improvement.

One such sign in recent games has the been the emergence of teenager Myles Beerman who, in the absence of club captain Lee Wallace, has performed admirably on the left hand side of the Gers defence.

His attitude and application have been a breath of fresh air in a Rangers team that, frankly, has looked devoid of fight and spirit for the majority of the season.

Lee Wallace is likely to return to the team when he recovers from his injury but we reckon that the youngster should get an extended run in the side to show what he can do.

Here are three reasons why...

He's truly proud and privileged to be playing for Rangers

In the wake of his debut away to Kilmarnock, Myles Beerman gave the above interview to Rangers TV and his sheer gratitude to be given the chance in the Rangers team was notable.

He's a young man ready to fight for the club and progress his career as a professional footballer, which is not something that can be said for a few of the Rangers team this season.

Having that kind of passion and eagerness to impress could be huge down the league run-in as the margin between victory and defeat gets slimmer when the club face the rest of the sides in the top six of the table.

It's not all talk either, so far he's shown he also has the ability to back up his belief that he can contribute to Pedro Caixinha's first team.

He's yet to concede a goal

The Rangers defence has been fairly ropey this season, they've conceded almost as many goals as this weekend's opponents Partick Thistle, who are hardly known for their defensive prowess.

When Myles Beerman and fellow debutant David Bates came into the team last week against Kilmarnock, some Rangers fans must have feared the worst.

When they then retained their place in the line-up against high-flyers Aberdeen, many thought that the Dons would blow away their Glasgow visitors.

That hasn't been the case at all though with clean sheets kept in both matches and Beerman in particular looking like a solid option on the left hand side, keeping the likes of Niall McGinn quiet all afternoon at Pittodrie.

It's impressive stuff from the duo in their first two matches and a sign that the state of youth at Auchenhowie may be better than many think.

Lee Wallace needs a reminder he isn't undroppable

Sticking with the club through their lowest lows and leading them into the top-flight, there's no doubting that Lee Wallace has proven to be a loyal servant to Rangers over the last six years.

However, he's never really had any real competition in the left-back position and sitting out a few games, even when fully fit, may be just the thing he needs to regain the edge to his game that made him such an impressive performer for Hearts and in his early days at Ibrox.

He is of course the club captain and a generally consistent performer so there's no need to put him on the scrap heap just yet, but giving him a friendly reminder that there are players at the club who can play in his place could bring his game to new heights and Myles Beerman could be the young star to push him along.
