After Sunday's thumping win over Aberdeen, optimism is again high in the Rangers support. Nobody expected much from Pedro Caixinha's team at Pittodrie but they delivered in a big way, romping to a 3-0 victory and humiliating a Dons side that had won their last ten games on home turf.

Fans now believe that they can still finish second in the Scottish Premiership, but if they're to do that, they'll likely have to win every game between now and the end of the season.

First on the list is Partick Thistle, who visit Ibrox knowing they've already been on the end of two defeats to the Light Blues this season.

However, they may well fancy their chances. Alan Archibald's men are enjoying a fantastic season and a victory or even a draw at Rangers would be the cherry on top this weekend.

Here are THREE reasons why they may just have enough about them to get a result and stop Ranger's Scottish Premiership comeback stone dead...

Kris Doolan has more Scot Prem goals than any Rangers man

At the heart of Partick Thistle's excellent top-flight campaign this season has been Kris Doolan, a striker who recently netted his 100th professional goal, all of which have come at the Glasgow club.

At the age of 30 he's having one of his best campaigns in a Partick shirt yet, banging in 12 goals, more than a third of the club's total in the league.

That's more than any Rangers player has managed in the Premiership this term with only Kenny Miller, on 8, coming close.

Of all the strikers in the Premiership, he also has a fantastic shot accuracy, getting 75% of his efforts on target this season. That's more than any player who has scored 10 or more goals this season including the likes of Moussa Dembele and Scott Sinclair.

It's clear he's in great form and will be a big threat on Saturday. Is he the man to pile on more misery at Rangers?

They have the best unbeaten record outside of Celtic

Outside of Celtic's unbelievable unbeaten streak, no side in the top-flight has a longer active unbeaten record in the league than Partick Thistle.

They haven't been defeated in eight top-flight matches, a run that stretches all the way back to the start of February. Many of them have been wins too, picking up five in that time.

They've defeated the likes of Hearts in that run and perhaps most impressively drew at Celtic Park, one of only three sides to do so in domestic football this season.

It's obviously they'll be a very tough nut to crack at Ibrox. Can Rangers find it in themselves to be the team that finally bursts their bubble?

They're set for their highest league finish in 36 years

Alan Archibald's men have made it into the top six for the split for the very first time, ensuring they will secure their highest league finish since 1981, when they also finished sixth.

With teams above them not too far away they still have plenty to play for and they could turn an already impressive season into one that may not be replicated for decades to come.

Recently securing funding for a new £4m training facility, the future is bright for the often forgotten Glasgow side and they can keep the good news rolling with a positive result at Ibrox on Saturday.

They're a dangerous top-flight proposition for the first time in recent memory and that's not the best news for a Rangers side who desperately need three points to keep their second place dreams alive.
