Three tactical tweaks Mourinho must make for St. Etienne

Manchester United return to European competition on Thursday night, hosting St. Etienne at Old Trafford in the Europa League Round of 32.

It’s an important fixture but one that comes in the middle of a heavy schedule for Jose Mourinho’s side. They’re fighting the good fight in four competitions and before they return to Premier League action they’ll play in this tournament, the FA Cup and the EFL Cup final.

Winning silverware in Mourinho’s first season would be a great achievement for the Portuguese tactician and show supporters they are on the right track, especially if they can couple it with a top-four finish in the league.

That top-four finish is critical given it provides Champions League action but remember, so does winning the Europa League. That makes Thursday’s match against the French outfit critical and not one the Red Devils can take for granted.
