Two of the Premier League's form clubs go head-to-head this Sunday as Tottenham Hotspur welcome Everton to White Hart Lane.

Spurs had a terrific start to 2017, going the whole of January unbeaten and recording good wins against Chelsea and Watford during the process. While February has taken a little dip with Mauricio Pochettino's side dropping out of the Europa League at the hands of KAA Gent and losing 2-0 to Liverpool, the Lilywhite's form has still been fairly solid.

Harry Kane has also been in terrific form, bagging three hat-tricks in his last eleven games.

The visitors on Sunday, Everton haven't had a bad year so far either. The Toffees had a poor, poor start to the Premier League season and massively underwhelmed up until late into last year. Unbeaten in the Premier League since December 19th, Everton's only loss since came in the FA Cup against Leicester City who beat Ronald Koeman's side 2-1.

That form has moved Everton back to a more familiar 7th place, and only six points off the top four spots, a position they would have hoped to have at least been in at the start of the season.

Tottenham will have their work cut-out to prevent the Toffee's Premier League undefeated run, but if they are to do so, here are three of their stars who need to step-up to the challenge ...

Toby Alderweireld

The man who perhaps has to put in the biggest performance this weekend is defender Toby Alderweireld, and the reason why? It is simple. Romelu Lukaku.

The defender's international team-mate is the joint top scorer of the Premier League with 17 goals alongside Harry Kane and Alexis Sanchez, and recently became the Toffee's joint all-time leading Premier League goal scorer.

Confidence is sky high for the former Chelsea man, so expect him to cause all sorts of problems for the Spurs defence. Alderweireld will be familiar with Lukaku's strengths and weaknesses having served with him on international duty for Belgium and will have to use that know-how effectively to keep the striker at bay for the afternoon.

Dele Alli

An interesting battle that will certainly emerge from the highly anticipated fixture this weekend is that between Tottenham's Dele Alli and Everton's Idrissa Gueye.

Gueye has been a revelation for Ronald Koeman's side since his switch from Aston Villa, very much performing a similar to that of N'Golo Kante at Chelsea for the Toffees.

Dele Alli has had another terrific season and is continuing to prove just why he is the most sought after young talent in English football, but may find things tough against a relentless Gueye who will certainly not give him a second of rest.

A performance like that he put in against Chelsea will do him nicely.

Eric Dier

Only a year ago Eric Dier was quickly becoming one of the poster boys for a new look England squad, however, his form in recent months has been what can only be described as lacklustre.

Changing his position back to centre-half certainly hasn't helped, and the presence of the excellent Victor Wanyama has pushed him even further out of the limelight, however rather than stepping up to the plate to compete, Dier has faded into the background.

Should he be given the nod against Everton this weekend, the Englishman will have to put in a huge performance to let his manager know just why he should be starting week-in-week-out for the Lilywhites.
