Pedro Caixinha hasn't even been in the Rangers job for a week but is already setting out his ambitions for the club, one of which is apparently winning a European trophy.

While that certainly seems far fetched, there are three goals between now and the end of the season that would certainly ensure Caixinha leaves a lasting legacy at the club regardless of whatever happens in the future.

Achieving them won't be easy; despite the draw against Celtic on Sunday, the new manager has a lot of work to do to transform the side from the playing style put in place by Mark Warburton. The Gers have played the same way for nearly two years now and those habits don't change overnight.

Nonetheless, there's no reason Caixinha can't provide instantaneous success. Here are the THREE ways Caixinha can make himself a legend at the club before the season even ends...

Hauling in Aberdeen

Make no mistake, Aberdeen fans are absolutely loving seeing their team dominate the Gers in the league table this season. With just 10 games remaining, the Dons are a massive 8 points ahead.

However, as Caixinha noted in his first press conference at the club, the Gers still have to play Aberdeen twice between now at the end of the season. One of those comes at Pittodrie and the other at Ibrox, now two of the biggest games remaining in their campaign.

Hauling in Aberdeen would be a remarkable achievement and make him an instant hit with supporters. There's no love lost between the two sides nor the two sets of supporters and pipping them to second place would be a great way to build momentum for his first full season after the summer.

An Old Firm victory

The game that Rangers supporters want to win most is undoubtedly the derby with Celtic. There are still two such occasions between now and the end of the season and the venues favour Rangers. One is at Hampden and the other at Ibrox; at both places they'll fancy putting the Hoops to the sword and picking up victories, especially after last weekend's draw.

Winning one of them will ensure that he becomes a firm favourite with supporters in two 90 minutes that present the chance to really announce himself as a manager in Scotland.

Rangers famously bested the Hoops on penalties in 2016 but haven't had an outright victory over Celtic across 90 minutes in years and years. Is Caixinha the man to finally bridge the gap in Glasgow?

Lifting the Scottish Cup

Rangers can still exit this season having achieved major honours after some fine work from caretaker boss Graeme Murty. He guided the Gers through two tough ties in the Scottish Cup to set up a semi-final clash at Hampden against the Hoops.

With last season's cup final foes Hibernian and rivals Aberdeen also still in the competition, winning it this year would be sweeter than ever.

The first challenge is of course getting past Celtic but that would then set up a final clash against two teams that aren't exactly in good relations with the Ibrox side.

Supporters crave major honours and incredibly the Gers haven't lifted this trophy since way back in 2009 when they secured a famous double.

Achieving one of the three goals listed would make Caixinha a hero, but if he can somehow do all three then he becomes an instant living legend - setting the stage for a new era of success at the club.
