West Ham United suffered yet another disappointing defeat at the London Stadium on Saturday as they were beaten 3-2 by Premier League holders Leicester City, and the result came at an extra cost too.The Hammers lost key trio Winston Reid, Pedro Obiang and Michail Antonio – the club’s top goalscorer this season – to injury against the Foxes to give manager Slaven Bilic a selection dilemma for their upcoming matches.According to owner David Sullivan’s son, Jack, on Twitter, Obiang has been ruled out until the end of the season, Reid could be missing for 4-6 weeks and Antonio 3-4 weeks.

It will be a major blow for Bilic – who is coming under pressure following the side’s form this season – with the trio becoming three of his key players this term.

However, it obviously gives an opportunity for individuals to step in and make a difference in the Premier League run-in.

Here are THREE players that can effectively replace the injured Irons trio in the starting line-up…

West Ham have had a shortage of options at centre-back throughout the campaign – part of the reason Slaven Bilic signed Jose Fonte from Southampton during the January transfer window – and now he has another conundrum at the heart of his defence following the injury to Winston Reid.

While Cheikhou Kouyate has sometimes dropped back into the back three of four from his usual central midfield position, Bilic might be better off sticking with experience in the form of James Collins.

The 33-year-old has been a reliable servant for the Irons over the years – but has struggled for first-team minutes this season – and he deserves an opportunity to prove that he still has a future at the club next term.

Havard Nordtveit

Like Collins, the Norwegian midfielder has found first-team opportunities hard to come by under Slaven Bilic this season after moving to the London Stadium from Borussia Monchengladbach on a free transfer last summer.

The defensively-minded player has often been kept on the substitutes’ bench because of the consistent performances of Obiang this term, but now with the Spaniard set to miss the rest of the campaign he could finally get the chance to prove himself in the team.

Robert Snodgrass

While losing top goalscorer Michail Antonio to a hamstring injury is a major blow for Irons manager Slaven Bilic, it should give Snodgrass a consistent run in the side in the coming weeks to show what he can do.

The Scotland international moved to the London Stadium from Hull City for £10.2m during the January transfer window, but he is yet to recapture the form that saw him score seven Premier League goals for Hull City in the first half of the season.

Bilic will be hoping to see some assists and goals from the 29-year-old midfielder in the coming weeks as the Hammers look to secure a top-half finish.
