The England squad head to France with an almost completely new attack from the last European Championship, aside from longtime forward Wayne Rooney. England have several young goalscorers primed to break out.
Harry Kane has a tremendous opportunity to score plenty after he led the Premier League with 25 goals last season. His ability to hold the ball with his back to goal, make a variety of runs and score goals inside and outside the box makes him a constant threat. Kane scored only 78 seconds into his England debut against Lithuania.
Joining him in the attack is FWA Player of the Year, Jamie Vardy, who finished only one goal behind Kane in the Golden Boot race. Together, the duo are as lethal as any in Europe.
But the attack doesn’t stop there. Daniel Sturridge has fought through injury but appears ready for the tournament. The Liverpool ace is one of the Premier League’s top strikers, having scored eight goals in only 14 appearances.
Now, with Marcus Rashford’s meteoric ascent, England have yet another young goalscoring option at forward. As always, Wayne Rooney will start in centre.
Roy Hodgson’s squad have scored at least two goals in seven of their last eight qualifying contests, averaging more than three goals per match. Their dangerous attack is a primary reason why England won every single game in the qualifiers.
