The autopsy has began on England’s World Cup campaign, which ended on Wednesday night as they suffered a 2-1 loss to Croatia in extra time.
Before the tournament, not many would have predicted that the Three Lions would have reached the semi-finals, and due to that fact, there has not been many complaints following the nation’s exit.
Some fans, though, believe that some players who were not included in the squad would have made a difference had they been involved.
Liverpool midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, rated at £36m by Transfermarkt, was one of the members to miss out, not due to lack of form but rather for being unlucky.
The former Arsenal man suffered a serious knee injury in April, which ended his season for both club and country.

It was a hammer blow for the 24-year-old as he had only just found his stride in Jurgen Klopp’s team when he was struck down.
After England’s disappointing exit, plenty of fans took to Twitter to suggest that Oxlade-Chamberlain would have thrived at the World Cup if fit.
If we had Oxlade-Chamberlain fit we would have gone through last night perfect for the CM role.

Oxlade Chamberlain might have made all the difference in midfield. But for his injury in the Champions league, who knows.
But it was fun while it lasted.

Just imagine that extra time if we’d been able to bring on Oxlade-Chamberlain

Was a large Oxlade-Chamberlain shaped hole in our team last night. Mightn’t have been enough, but would’ve been better suited than either Lingard/Alli to sit closer to Henderson

Oxlade-Chamberlain was massively missed this tournament, would have been the best sub we could have brought on in any of those games.

Missed Oxlade C for sure.

Not sure how many people agree with me, but Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain would’ve walked into that team last night.

I know it doesn’t say good things about our depth, but do think #ENG missed Oxlade-Chamberlain in midfield. Balances power, pressing & passing better than Lingard or Alli
