Friday night sees the return of the auld enemy as Scotland visit Wembley for an important match in the World Cup qualifying stages.

The two nations haven't faced off for almost two years so expect a lot of drama and passion.

England, though, have won six of the last seven matches against their rivals and will feel like they have the edge over their neighbours.

But before England and Scotland kick off on Friday, there are actually only six victories between the sides in their head to head battle.

England have been victorious 47 times compared to Scotland's 41 wins, whilst there have been 25 draws.

During football's introductory years, Scotland frequently got the better of their English rivals but things took a turn for the worse for Tartans after the 1950s as England began to dominate.

However, for those Scots who want to remember the finer moments of this great rivalry, the FanCast headquarters has been busy choosing the FIVE best Scotland goals against England.

England 2-3 Scotland 1967 - Bobby Lennox

Facing England as World Champions was no easy feat. The Three Lions were undefeated in 19 matches and only nine months previous beat Germany to win the World Cup for the first and only time.

However, Scotland had a good team themselves with Denis Law, Billy Bremner and Bobby Lennox of Celtic.

It was indeed those three who combined to make the score 2-0, giving Scotland a well deserved but surprise lead.

As Bremner and Law switched the ball to one another, the former Manchester United forward teed the it into the path of the onrushing Lennox who blasted past Gordon Banks.

England 3-2 Scotland 2014 - Kenny Miller

The last time the two teams faced ofr, Kenny Miller scored one of his best ever Scotland goals to put his country 2-1 ahead at Wembley.

West Brom midfielder James Morison set them on their way but it was this strike that will live long in the memory.

Unfortunately for Scotland, goals from Danny Welbeck and Rickie Lambert meant that England turned the tie on its head and saw off their great rivals.

England 0-1 Scotland 1999 - Don Hutchinson

Scotland had to face England to fight for a place at the European Championship in 2000.

The Three Lions won the first leg in Scotland 2-0 and all seemed well but Scotland planned to spoil the party when they visited Wembley a matter of days later.

Hutchinson netted a header after forty minutes and Scotland huffed and puffed in the second half but were unable to find a goal to take them to extra time, in no small part due to David Seaman's heroics.

It is still a Scotland victory at Wembley though and they have to be savoured.

England 2-3 Scotland 1967 - Jim McCalliog

In the same game that Lennox scored a wonderful goal to put Scotland 2-0 up, Sheffield Wednesday's McCalliog also bagged a well worked effort that regained their two-goal cushion against England.

A nice bit of interplay between William Wallace and McCalliog saw the ball fall back to the Wednesday midfielder, who slotted it past Banks at his near post all but sealing the momentous victory.

Scotland 1-0 England 1985 - Richard Gough

England and Scotland used to face each other in an annual battle, at this point in time known as the Rous Cup.

England went into the match as favourites in 1985 but were unable to see off their rivals.

Instead, with 70 minutes on the clock, Gough started an exchange which saw the ball fall to Jim Beat on the left hand side, who floated in a majestic pass which Gough rose highest to.

The ball hung off his head for what felt like an eternity before dropping under the bar to give the Tartan army a famous victory.
