Both England and Croatia have it all to play for when they meet in their Nations League encounter at Wembley Stadium on Sunday. For either side, victory will mean topping the group and progression to the knockout stages, whilst defeat would lead to relegation.

Ahead of this all-important competitive clash, the Three Lions took on the USA in a friendly on Thursday night. Gareth Southgate’s second-string side produced a good performance to triumph over the Americans by a 3-0 scoreline.

The victory, though, has given the England manager at least one huge decision to make. This is because Liverpool youngster Trent Alexander-Arnold put in a man of the match performance and scored his first ever international goal in the friendly.

The 20-year-old right-back’s display has surely put Kyle Walker’s first-choice status under threat.

Alexander-Arnold has had somewhat of a difficult start to the season for his club side, but his performance on Thursday has put him in with a shout of usurping the 43-cap Manchester City defender in Southgate’s starting XI to take on Croatia.

Many England fans certainly feel that Alexander-Arnold deserves that chance, with 83% of those who took part in our poll voting for him to start instead of Walker on Sunday. See the full results below.
