By all accounts, Barcelona's start to the new 2019/20 La Liga season has been far from perfect.

And even though their most recent clash with Villarreal ended in a 2-1 triumph, they are still struggling to find their groove.

There could be a number of reasons behind that; it could be that their tactics are not quite right or perhaps the new players still need some time to properly gel.

Of course, Lionel Messi has also struggled with injuries; making just two appearances in La Liga thus far this season.

But if there is one other aspect Ernesto Valverde has failed to address it's Luis Suarez's recent bad run of form.

The Uruguay international has scored in just one La Liga game this season - a brace in the 5-2 win over Valencia - but struggled in the 2-0 loss to Granada, failing to register a single shot on target.

Against Villarreal, he again had an underwhelming 90 minutes, having one shot on goal and was eventually substituted for teenager Ansu Fati.

The below image from the clash that shows Suarez lashing out after a failed attack perfectly summarises not only this particular game but also his whole 2019/20 campaign.

In addition to his solitary shot against the Yellow Submarine, Suarez had one key pass, one dribble and only 79.3% passing accuracy.

He also had just 43 touches of the ball.

It is fair to say that he is not currently at his best, and it remains to be seen if he can get back among the goals in the coming weeks.

As it is, though, he is right to be frustrated.
