Lionel Messi has claimed that although he may not spend his entire career at Barcelona he will never play for another European club, as reported by The Sun.

The Barca wizard has said that he may end his playing career in his native Argentina but his love for Barcelona is too much to drag him away for a long time.

The 25-year-old signed a contract extension with the La Liga leaders this week that will keep him at the Nou Camp until 2018, but when that deal concludes Messi may move back to South America.

Having won every possible trophy in his time in Spain including the Ballon D’or for a record breaking fourth successive time this season, it is understandable that Messi will one day look to win things in his homeland.

Messi has revealed that he is not ruling out a move back to Argentina in the future but he won’t join another European club after Barcelona.

“I said it before — in Europe I’d like to end my career at Barca. I wouldn’t consider moving to another European club,” Messi said.

“With that said, I’m not ruling out ending my playing career in Argentina.”
