Liverpool favourite Dirk Kuyt has rubbished suggestions that he will join Barcelona in 2016.
The 35-year-old former Anfield star has emerged as a shock target for the Catalan giants ahead of January, despite having only returned to Feyenooord over the summer.
Barca are rumoured to be looking for an experienced forward to compliment their star-studded attack, with the success enjoyed by Swedish ace Henrik Larsson following his move to the Nou Camp from Celtic in 2004 their inspiration.
Kuyt’s excellent form since his return to the Netherlands has also encouraged the La Liga champions, with the veteran currently the leading scorer in Eredivisie action with 10 in 11 matches for the Rotterdam side.
However, the ex-Liverpool man says that he’s fully committed to playing for his current club and is not interested in what would be a massive move for him at this stage of his career:
“Should the Feyenoord fans be concerned because I might go to Barca? No,” he told RTL (via The Express).
“I’ve started something beautiful (at Feyenoord) and I want to finish it.”
Meanwhile Liverpool fans fear that Philippe Coutinho may follow Luis Suarez to Barca with the Spaniards understood to be interested in him.
