It seems that Valencia's 19-year-old jewel, Ferran Torres, is starting to attract a lot of attention from Europe's heavy-hitters.

Real Madrid have reportedly renewed their interest in the young winger, as per an update coming from AS, and are willing to enter the race for his signature.

Torres has a release clause of €100m (£85m) which makes him a rather pricey target. But Zinedine Zidane is not the only admirer of the Spanish prodigy.

Liverpool are also interested and have been for some time, as per an older report coming from Sport Bild at the end of October (via Sport Witness) that stated the Reds are seriously eyeing the young prospect.

He has already bagged four goals and three assists in 2019/20 despite being just 19 years of age and has very much warranted the interest of the European giants.

Indeed, when you factor in a return of 2.8 dribbles and 1.2 key passes per match in the Champions League, Torres is already showing he can deliver on the biggest stage.

And that should be no surprise, because former Spain U17 coach Santi Denia has already declared that Torres has what it takes to reach the very top.

"He's got all he needs to reach the very top. Speed, ability … he's the complete package technically. He is combative, but what he has above all is the pace and directness in one-on-ones that modern footballers need."

Real Madrid and Liverpool seem to have similar tastes as Torres does seem like an ideal candidate for both of them.

Klopp's heavy metal system is very much dependant on explosive and pacy wingers who can run in behind the opposition's defence and tear them to pieces in the process.

We've seen as much with an almost meteoric rise of both Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah, both of whom were decent players anyway but have reached new heights under the German manager.

The Egyptian was once a Chelsea flop - scoring only twice in 19 games - and despite a really strong spell with Roma, he underwent an incredible transformation at Merseyside.

Now, with 84 goals to his name in just 126 games played for Liverpool, he has already broken into the top 10 list of their all-time goal-scorers.

A similar thing could be said for Mane, whose incredible efforts in 2018/19 - when he scored 26 goals across all competitions - netted him the fourth place in this year's Ballon d'Or ranking.

Torres seems to have the makings of someone who can follow a similar path, showing huge promise elsewhere before moving to Anfield and bringing his game to a whole new level.

But Zidane's ideology isn't too different.

With the purchases of both Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo Goes, two talented wingers, Real Madrid are looking to establish a rather young and prolific front line.

The latter player, in particular, has been setting the stage ablaze in the ongoing campaign, dropping masterclass performances in the process.

Rodrygo has already scored seven goals in the current season, including four strikes and two assists in just four Champions League matches. With the Brazilian duo, Los Blancos are definitely building a squad for the future, and Torres fits that agenda perfectly at just 19.

Both Real Madrid and Liverpool could use someone like him and would potentially be able to mould him into a world-beater in the not so distant future.

It remains to be seen which team ends up scooping him from Valencia. One thing is pretty clear, though - they will be getting a serious talent.
