Real Madrid really can't seem to catch a break with injuries this season.

The latest player to be sidelined by a fitness problem is Los Blancos' newcomer, Ferland Mendy. The club have now officially confirmed that the Frenchman has suffered an injury to an abductor muscle in his left leg.

That would be bad news on its own but when we also factor in that Marcelo, the other left-back in the squad, is also out injured, things get a bit more interesting, to say the least.

Since their first and second choice left-backs are both sidelined, Real Madrid might have to deploy the 29-year-old Nacho to deputise in their absence.

And the prospect of having him starting at left-back is leaving a number of Real fans uneasy.

Some of them are dreading the start of the coming fixtures and others are panicking already; Los Blancos play Osasuna in La Liga on Wednesday evening.
