Borussia Dortmund have a tall task this season.

Not only do they have to fight against their raging neighbours back in Bundesliga, but they also have one of the toughest Champions League groups out there with the likes of Barcelona and Inter Milan threatening their progress to the knockout stages.

But so far, they're holding their own on all fronts - they are second in both competitions and definitely in the race to go the distance come the latter stages of the campaign.

And seeing their performances as of late, there are a lot of things to be optimistic about if you are a fan of the Yellow Wall or, interestingly enough, a Real Madrid enthusiast.

The reason for that is quite simple and comes in the form of a 21-year-old defender, Achraf Hakimi.

Los Blancos' Moroccan loanee has simply been on fire this season, giving his temporary team a huge boost when it mattered the most - in the Champions League.

Just recently, Borussia Dortmund welcomed Inter Milan at Signal Iduna Park and salvaged all three points, mounting a sensational comeback from being 2-0 down to winning 3-2 in the end.

Needless to say, with his two goals on the night, Hakimi was a crucial part of their triumph. But he did more than just that - he also deployed four shots, two of which were on target, three key passes and maintained a 86.1% passing accuracy.

Going the other way, Hakimi also tallied one tackle and one foul to his name, warranting an 8.31 Man of the Match rating by WhoScored's ranking system.

By all means, Zinedine Zidane will be thrilled to hear his 21-year-old loanee was brilliant once again.

So far, he has played four games for Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League, scoring four goals in total.

This becomes even more impressive when we factor in that he's actually a defender by trade.

If Hakimi continues developing like this, Real Madrid's future will definitely be in safe hands.

It still remains to be seen, however, what kind of plans Los Blancos have with this exceptional young talent.
