This article is part of Football FanCast's Loan Watch series, which takes a closer look at those players who are aiming to galvanise their careers away from the spotlight of their parent club.

Martin Odegaard is currently one of the hottest players in La Liga.

The 20-year-old Real Madrid loanee has already scored and assisted two goals in the eight La Liga games he's played for Real Sociedad in the 2019/20 campaign and is showing no signs of stopping.

Of course, there's already been a lot of talk about his displays and even Los Blancos have apparently taken notice and are keeping an eye on the young player's development.

There were whispers about an early call back to the Spanish capital but for now, Odegaard will seemingly stay with La Real until his loan deal is officially done.

And if his performances for Real Sociedad were somehow not enough to win over any doubters there may well have been, the 20-year-old is now doing the same thing for his country, Norway, on the international stage.

Just last weekend, they faced Spain in their Euro 2020 qualifier and managed to draw 1-1 with the giants of European football.

Odegaard himself played a huge role in helping his side secure a point.

The 20-year-old stayed on the pitch for the full 90 minutes, warranting the game-highest 7.8 match rating according to Sofascore's metrics.

He also deployed four key passes, completed all four of his dribbles and recorded 66 touches on the night.

But not only that, Odegaard also tallied 90% passing accuracy with 40 passes, made three successful crosses and completed three out of three long balls, making his presence felt across the pitch.

With Real keeping their eyes on his development, one has to feel that the sky is the limit for the attacking midfielder.

Of course, he is just 20 years of age so nothing is set in stone just yet.

But it's difficult not to get excited about such a big prospect emerging on the footballing stage, especially if you are a Madridista.
