Gareth Bale went from being an outcast to a potentially important player and then back to being an outcast at Real Madrid.

And now that he's gone full circle with his status at the Spanish capital, it would probably be the right time for Zinedine Zidane to pull the trigger and let the Welshman leave.

A couple of months ago, it was actually the Frenchman himself who stated Bale's departure would be for the best and then suddenly changed his tune when his proposed transfer to China hit the gutters.

But in light of the most recent turn of events, the Welshman's career within Zidane's squad might have reached its final chapter. Or rather, it should, for the better of all parties involved.

According to Wales Online, Jose Mourinho - Tottenham Hotspur's new manager who took over the squad upon the sacking of Mauricio Pochettino - has taken an interest in Bale and is ready to bring him back to London.

And after his recent actions during the international break - when he was seen celebrating with a Welsh flag that stated: "Wales. Golf. Madrid. In that order", one thing should suddenly become abundantly clear - his time in the capital may all be but finished.

But even though he has been a big part of their success, seeing how he has scored a total of 104 goals in 238 games for the Galacticos, this potential separation in the near future can only be a good thing for everyone involved.

Bale's priorities are quite clear now and if Real Madrid are not one of them, or at least not at the very top, he shouldn't be anywhere near the club in the first place.

And it's not like they don't have players who could actually thrive in his absence and replace him comfortably.

For that reason, this potential transfer would play right into Zidane's hands and would be a good thing for his club.

Spurs, or rather, Mourinho, would bring a big name to the squad that could potentially boost both the team and give the fans some reassurance that better times are truly ahead of them.

After all, they just might need that with their current situation being far from ideal - they are sitting in 14th place in the table and were struggling to find their feet with Pochettino at the helm.

Of course, they've experienced an incredible high with last season's Champions League final but after that, it has been all downhill from the lads from London.

For that reason, the new gaffer is bound to shake things up pretty soon and since this is Mourinho we're talking about, it's pretty safe to assume he will put his squad to work from the get-go.

Maybe it would be a reach to say immediate fixes should be expected but for now, salvaging the season and learning from Pochettino's mistakes should be top of the list and once that is done, improvement should follow.

And Bale? He just might be the one to help set things into motion.

He's done it once at Spurs, all those years ago when he bagged 56 goals and 58 assists while donning their kit, and maybe he can do it again.

Daniel Levy will definitely hope so and so will the fans.
