According to Marca, Valencia are interested in taking Dani Ceballos off Arsenal’s hands.
The young midfielder is currently on the fringes at the Emirates and with that in mind, Valencia are highly attentive to his situation and might be willing to pounce on this opportunity.
Having not played since November – largely due to his injury problems and also the shift in leadership at Arsenal – Ceballos risks missing out on the upcoming European Championship with Spain, and for that reason would be willing to move away from his current club.
Marca also state that the Bats of Valencia have already moved for the player, keeping in mind that their gaffer, Albert Celades, knows the 23-year-old from the time they spent together in Spain’s U21 squad in 2017.
And looking at the player in question, he seems like a good fit.
Moving back to Spain and working under a familiar coach definitely sounds more promising for Ceballos than staying under Mikel Arteta and risk not getting many minutes in the remainder of the campaign.
The 23-year-old could potentially revive his career at Valencia and help the Spaniards boost their season by giving them extra reinforcement in the middle of the park.
The Bats are currently sitting in seventh but the fight for the European slots is very much open – Real Sociedad are above them but dead even on 31 points while Athletic Bilbao are one point behind. Needless to say, it’s a very tight race.
And maybe if Celades can get the best out of Ceballos, he could be a real asset to the team.
After all, we’ve seen how good he can be, dropping masterful displays when he’s at his best. The Gunners have seen shades of his ability but maybe at Valencia, he could find the consistency to match.
