Hull will listen to offers for their former Manchester United striker Will Keane in January, according to Hull Live, and Charlton should be at the front of the queue to secure a bargain deal with the 25-year-old out of contract next summer.

What's the story?

Hull Live report that the Tigers will need to reduce their wage bill at the end of this year when the Premier League parachute payments cease to arrive at the KCOM Stadium, and the club will refuse to activate the option for a further year in Keane's current contract.

The Englishman joined Hull from Manchester United for £1m in the summer of 2016, but after less than half a season he suffered a cruciate ligament injury that kept him out for well over a year.

Keane is now behind Fraizer Campbell, Chris Martin and Nouha Dicko in the pecking order for Nigel Adkins' side, but he could certainly be a good signing for Charlton in January, especially if the Tigers are hoping to shift him on the cheap.

Striker solution

Charlton are currently sat in sixth position in League One and boss Lee Bowyer will have his sights set on the play-off places come the end of the season. This means he may have to convince the owners to spend at least something in the January transfer window.

Bowyer clearly prefers to play with two up front but he is yet to settle on a permanent partner for the impressive summer signing Lyle Taylor, who has nine league goals already this season.

Keane then would be an excellent signing for the Addicks as he is just coming into his prime, whereas Jamie Ward and Billy Clarke are both in their 30s and no youngster has stood out when given a chance.
