HYS: Should Charlton sign MK Dons forward Chuks Aneke?

Charlton are having a good season under former Birmingham star Lee Bowyer this season in what is his first taste of management. The Addicks currently sit fifth in League One and are just six points off second-placed Luton – table toppers Portsmouth are 11 points ahead, and presumably out of reach in all honesty.

However, Bowyer’s men only need to sneak into that second automatic promotion spot to avoid the anguish of the play-offs, and they may do just that if they bring in a prolific, hungry goalscorer who can light up the second half of their season.

The south London side already have two in-form forwards in their ranks in Lyle Taylor and Karlan Grant, who have scored 11 and 12 goals respectively in League One.

However, given the fact that the pair start alongside each other, there is no firepower to come off the bench if the duo fail to produce the goods in a game that perhaps doesn’t go their way.

As a result, they should look to bring League Two star and MK Dons hitman Chuks Aneke to the Valley this month to give themselves a great chance at promotion back to the Championship.

The 25-year-old has hit 13 goals in all competitions so far this season, and looks a real handful for defenders.
