It has certainly been a turbulent start to the season off the field at Charlton during this campaign. Owner Roland Duchatelet has continued in his attempts to sell the club, without success, and the fans have continued to protest against his cost-cutting measures, which has included refusing to pay employees their promised 10 per cent bonuses.

According to the Evening Standard, the club have been losing £10m a year since the Belgian's takeover in 2014.

However, on the pitch Lee Bowyer’s men have been going about their business in League 1. The Addicks currently sit in sixth place after 17 games, occupying the final play-off spot that they will be hoping to have secured come the end of the season.

Here at Football FanCast though, we want to know what position on the pitch Bowyer should strengthen if he is given any funds for transfer fees or wages in January. With a lack of depth in the squad, defence should surely be a priority for the 41-year-old boss.
