According to the Daily Mail, several first-team players at Bolton are seeking January moves away from the club after wages were not paid this week amid continuing financial problems, and Charlton should look to take advantage by signing Andrew Taylor.

What's the situation?

The Bolton News recently reported that boss Phil Parkinson and his coaching staff had still not been paid their bonuses for keeping the club in the Championship last season, as their final day victory over Nottingham Forest dramatically kept the club in the second tier.

The report also stated that, last week, players and coaching staff received an email on behalf of owner Ken Anderson that said it had not been possible to pay all of their wages for November, and that they would have to wait until early December to be paid.

It now seems though that many players are fed up with the situation, and The Mail has gone on to suggest that senior first-teamers at the club have asked their agents to find them moves away in the winter transfer window.

Capitalising

Another club in dispute with their owner, Charlton are at least suffering better on-pitch fortunes this season than Bolton, who are 23rd in the Championship.

Charlton manager Lee Bowyer

Lee Bowyer's side are currently sixth in League One, but the 41-year-old boss recently told the South London Press & Mercury: “It is too soon to say what sort of players we will want to bring in elsewhere but we need to try to get a left-back, 100 per cent.”

The Addicks then should look to capitalise on the situation at Bolton and sign 32-year-old Taylor as cover for the rest of their season, as they look to get back to the Championship with a promotion push.

The former Wigan and Middlesbrough man would be a solid acquisition for Bowyer, and he could be available for a bargain fee if he forces a move.
