Sunderland have been eyeing young Greek talent, Charis Mavrias, for quite some time now, according to the Daily Mail and Greek media, and this is a transfer that the Black Cats could benefit from.
The 19-year-old winger has been playing for Panathinaikos, after the jump from the youth team, for the past three years and has had 51 appearances. He had a very good season with the Greens, who are currently dealing with a lot of financial problems, and solely pulled a lot of the weight on the right wing.
Although 5.9ft, the Greek international is very quick, can find spaces with the ball to cross, has very good passing skills and has also shown some good dribbling ability and exceptional touch with the ball.
Mavrias is also the kind of player to rely on during the big games. At last year’s derby against rivals Olympiacos, Mavrias was the Man of the match as he had one goal and one assist in a 2-2 draw.
This is a pretty talented player who can learn and improve even more as thanks to his young age he can stay for a long time at the Stadium of Light and the £2 million bid can prove to be a good investment.
